Dear colleagues!
I congratulate you on the spring holiday of Nauryz! Nauryz marks the beginning of a new year and new beginnings; above all, it is a celebration of kindness and creation, love and harmony. I wish every home a special atmosphere of warmth, comfort and hospitality.
During these festive days, our country, like the whole world, has faced a challenge unknown and unprecedented for our generation — the coronavirus pandemic, a virus before which all continents, countries and peoples are equal. The situation is aggravated by the sharp fall in oil prices and instability on international financial markets.
The Government of Kazakhstan is taking unprecedented and radical steps to stop the spread of the disease. These measures are undoubtedly timely and necessary. As a company that provides work for tens of thousands of people and is responsible for the economic development of the industry, we were among the first to support these measures and set three priorities:
First, caring for our employees and their families. Our aim is for the employees of the KazMunayGas group of companies and our contractors always to go home from work safe and sound.
Second, ensuring the continuity of production and the safety of production facilities.
Third, comprehensive cooperation with government agencies and akimats on response, information and coordination of efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus infection.
In this regard, I have signed orders and instructed all heads of subsidiaries and affiliates to strengthen preventive measures. Crisis management headquarters have been activated throughout the group, and an algorithm for responding to the coronavirus epidemic has been worked out. All production facilities will be provided with the resources they need to operate without interruption; the supply of goods, works and services is under strict control, and coordination with all contractors and service companies has been stepped up.
In these difficult days for the whole country, I call on you, my colleagues, and your loved ones to show the utmost awareness, patience and understanding. I urge each of you to comply with all the requirements of our Government, to take good care of your health and to follow the preventive recommendations strictly.
The company will do everything possible to keep you safe. For my part, I am counting on you and am confident that each of you will take responsibility for your own safety and that of your family, our company and our country.
I am convinced that together we will overcome the current difficulties and become stronger.
