KazMunayGas continues to develop occupational health and environmental standards

On 24 January, Astana hosted the 9th annual forum of general directors of NC KazMunayGas JSC subsidiaries, "Leadership in Developing a Safety Culture".

The meeting was attended by KazMunayGas CEO Askhat Khassenov, heads of KMG subsidiaries, and representatives of the major oil and gas companies North Caspian Operating Company N.V., Tengizchevroil and Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.

The participants discussed industrial safety, occupational health and environmental protection.

In his speech, A. Khassenov noted that KazMunayGas pays particular attention to creating safe working conditions, protecting employees' health and maintaining the ecological balance in the regions where it operates.

"Safety is a continuous process that requires constant work and improvement. It is one of our core corporate values. Managers at every level bear special responsibility and must inspire their teams by their own example and confirm their commitment to these principles. KMG will continue its targeted work on occupational health and environmental protection, paying particular attention to the safety and well-being of employees at production facilities," the head of KMG said.

Representatives of TCO, KPO and NCOC shared their experience in this area.

At the forum, KMG subsidiaries were recognised for their achievements in occupational health and environmental protection.

The best observers of the Korgau safety cards, which help prevent potentially hazardous situations, were also awarded:

Exploration and Production: Ruslan Azhgereyev, electrician fitter of the Production and Technical Department of Ural Oil and Gas LLP;

Transportation: Batyrzhan Aibekov, lead motor transport mechanic of the Karazhanbas oil pumping station of KazTransOil JSC;

Refining: Amangeldi Demegen, head of the gas and gas condensate transportation section of KazGPZ LLP;

Oilfield services: Anuarbek Sabikhov, senior engineer of the operational dispatch group of Mangistauenergomunai LLP.
