Nurzhan lives up to his colleagues' trust!

The first stage of the "Best Specialist 2018" competition among the employees of Mangistauenergomunai LLP took place on 20 June. Thirteen equipment repair electricians from the partnership's units took part. The competition opened ceremonially at the PES-2 "Zhetybai" base at the Zhetybai field, and each participant's theoretical knowledge was tested with a set of test questions. Judged on both speed and accuracy, the contest showed how deep the competitors' knowledge really was.

The prize went to Nurzhan Kydyrgaliuly Karabalayev, a grade 4 electrician of the Relay Protection, Automation and Testing Service. Under the competition rules, he was awarded a certificate for a 30% bonus on his tariff rate for one calendar year and a certificate of honour. The victory earned Nurzhan a place in the annual "Best Specialist 2018" competition held among the subsidiaries of KazMunayGas JSC to find the true masters of their trade.

The final took place at the training and production centre of KazTransOil JSC. Having built up his experience and rolled up his sleeves, our Nurzhan once again proved himself a master of every aspect of his profession and won the grand prize.

At the awards ceremony on the shore of the Caspian, the administrative staff, the Young Specialists' Council and the trade union of Mangistauenergomunai congratulated our colleague and presented him with awards.

The words of Azilkhan Nurshaikhov, veteran of the Great Patriotic War and People's Writer of Kazakhstan, bear witness to this victory: "I think of power engineers as the Prometheuses of our time. Like Prometheus, who gave people fire and made their lives better, the Mangistauenergomunai team supplies power to countless wells across the rich Mangystau steppe and helps them bring oil up from underground. That oil is turned into gold and flows into the treasury of the State, and that treasury improves the well-being of the people of Kazakhstan."

I wish these power engineers — the Prometheuses who do such great work — good health, happiness for their families and strength for their homeland!
