Employee portal
How to sign in to the portal
Step by step: what to press on the sign-in page, where your login and password come from, and how to pair the app that issues a code at every sign-in.
You have a work computer and a domain account — the same one you use to start your computer in the morning. No separate portal password is created.
Open the sign-in page and choose “Staff employee”
In the login field enter the same name you use to start your work computer — for example ivanov or ivanov@mem.kmg.kz — and the same password. There is no separate portal password: change it on your computer and it works here right away.
The sign-in page with the “Staff employee” option selected. Pair an authenticator app
At the first sign-in the portal asks you to pair an app that issues a one-time code. This is done once and takes a couple of minutes — see the “Authenticator app” section below.
From then on, enter the code at every sign-in
After the password a field for a six-digit code appears. Open the app on your phone, find the “MEM Portal” entry and type the digits shown at that moment. The code changes every 30 seconds: if you miss it, wait for the next one.
The second sign-in step: the field for the code from the app.
Authenticator app
This is a small app on your phone that shows a new six-digit code every 30 seconds. The code is the second sign-in step: even if someone learns your password, they cannot reach the portal without your phone. The code needs neither internet nor a SIM card — it is calculated on the phone itself, so it works at a site with no signal.
Install an app on your phone
Any of them will do: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy, FreeOTP, 2FAS. They are free and can be found by name in Play Market or the App Store. If you already use such an app for another system, you do not need a second one — the portal is added as a separate entry.
Scan the QR code on the portal
On the “Two-factor authentication” page press “Show the QR code”. In the app choose “Add account” → “Scan a QR code” and point the camera at your computer screen. If the camera does not work, type the key next to the code by hand — the result is the same.
The pairing page: the QR code and the key for manual entry. Confirm the pairing with the first code
The app shows a “MEM Portal” entry and a six-digit code. Enter it on the portal and press “Confirm pairing”. This step is required: it proves the entry was added correctly so you are not locked out at the next sign-in.
How the portal entry looks in the app: the code and the time until it changes. Look after your phone and never share the code
The code is the second key to your account. Neither the IT service, nor management, nor colleagues may ask for it by phone or in messages. If someone asks for your code, it is an attempt to deceive you — report it to the IT service.
If something does not work
The portal says “Invalid login or password”
Staff employees: the password is the same as on your work computer — check the keyboard layout and Caps Lock, and if it was changed recently, use the new one. External employees: make sure the “SBA employee” button is pressed and the login is typed in full, including the dot (for example ivanov.i).
The code from the app is not accepted
Usually there is one reason — the time on your phone. Turn on automatic date and time in the phone settings: if the clock drifts by even a minute, the codes stop matching. Also check that you take the code from the “MEM Portal” entry rather than another system, and that you enter it before it changes.
It says “Too many wrong codes”
After five wrong codes in a row, entry is closed for 15 minutes — that is protection against guessing. Wait, then try again with a fresh code. If you cannot wait, contact the IT service.
I lost my phone or replaced it
Contact the IT service: a portal administrator resets the pairing, after which you sign in with your password and pair the app on the new phone. Moving the entry from the old phone yourself is only possible through the app's own backup, if you made one.
I forgot my password (external organisation employee)
Contact the IT service through the person responsible for you: you will be issued a new temporary password, and at the first sign-in the portal will again ask you to replace it with your own.
The sign-in page does not open
Check that you are on the company network and that the address is typed correctly. If the page does not open on any computer, tell the IT service — maintenance may be in progress.
Still have questions
Call or write to the IT service: we will walk you through the steps and, if needed, pair the app together with you. Requests about a lost phone are handled the same day.
